Telemed app to help doctors and patients stay connected in the age of COVID-19 outbreak

Background

The COVID-19 worldwide public health emergency has marked the 2020 year. The pandemic is affecting all areas of life, prompting the whole world to adapt to new realities. On top of that, coronavirus is severely testing the care continuum. Here is when telehealth mobile apps are stepping up.

Hence, our client took the initiative to break down the barriers that can hinder patient access to medical care. This is how Doctro.app idea was founded to provide quality virtual care and remote patient monitoring.

Problem
to Be Solved

Our task was to build a telemed app aimed at examining patients with signs and symptoms of COVID-19. To solve a specific problem plus satisfy early adopters right away, we had to make an application super simple.

Solution

There are two roles in an app: patient and doctor.

Both patients and doctors should pass a quick and easy registration procedure. After that, they are guided through COVID-19 checklist: what coronavirus disease is and how it is spread, its incubation period and symptoms. Additionally, persons receive advice on how to take care of their health and protect others.

Patient

Profile Section

Users just upload image, fill in the name and phone number.

Request Form

To create a request, a patient should pick a city, set the language, select field of medicine, fill in the disease description form. They also can select a doctor. If a person has a serious issue, he or she can mark request as urgent.

Request Status

All requests fall into three status groups: urgent, pending or finished.

Virtual Therapy

After a request accepted, a patient is connected with a physician through an audio/video call to receive virtual doctor consultation.

Prescription Field

Upon online medical doctor consultation completion, a person receives a prescription with medicine name, amount, dose and clarifications to take it to a pharmacy.

Profile Section

A medical practitioner just upload image, fill in the name and phone number.

Request Info & Status

A physician gets access to the list of requests. All requests fall into four status groups: urgent, personal, pending, finished

Virtual Doctor Consultation

After accepting a request, a medical practitioner is connected with a patient by phone to conduct video\audio therapy.

Prescription Advice

Then, a physician writes a prescription. Prescriptions can be edited, as well as added new ones.

Suggest Patient to Another Doctor

If needed, a doctor can redirect a patient to another specialist.

Admin

License Verification

To treat patients, healthcare workers must process verification by filling the medical license form. After that, a manager verifies the license authenticity outside the application to be sure that only qualified specialists will work with people.

Content Editing

Managers can edit homepage content.
