Background

The lockdown caused by the outbreak of Covid-19 has provoked behavioral issues in children of primary school age and triggered family-related stress. The Customer came up with an idea of building a cost-effective digital solution that would reverse the negative impact of the pandemic on children and parents.

When OpenGeeksLab joined the project, the Customer already had a digital solution, however it had a faulty front-end, which negatively influenced the application's performance.

Problem the Client came to us with

Enhanced the existing mobile solution to support parents and their kinds through lockdown experiences.
Provide parents with tips and support to help them overcome eight major parenting challenges.
Allow parents to share experiences with other parents and post questions for experts.

Solutions

Provided parents with a series of 45-second animations with eight basic messages covering the topic of childrens’ behavior management.

Supplemented animations with practical parenting resources and engaging communication platforms to enable parents to establish peer support networks.

Results

Parent Positive proved its efficiency in managing children’s emotional problems. Thus, parents who got access to the app experienced less psychological distress and child-related worries.

Build a digital platform to help children with post-traumatic stress disorder cope with their trauma.

- Delivered a convenient digital platform that offers gaming treatment for children with post-traumatic stress disorder. It works the following way. Hospitals implement the system. Each young patient is assigned a therapist. This specialist gives a kid different tasks that should be completed in the allotted time. After that, the clinician makes an appointment with the kid where they discuss the child’s condition. The whole communication process is closely monitored by parents.

Results

The platform delivered by OpenGeeksLab helps children overcome their traumatic pasts, explore emotions, and communicate with seasoned psychotherapists through games and specific tasks.

Project Background

Many children may experience worries or fears from time to time. They must not be ignored because, if left untreated, they may lead to more serious mental disorders. The key to successful treatment is parent involvement.
Unfortunately, there are very few online platforms where parents can get professional help treating their kids’ anxiety. So the Customer decided to fill in the unoccupied niche and build such a platform.

Build an online platform to help children overcome their issues with anxiety, fears, and worries.
Make sure the solution is straightforward and easy to use for both parents and therapists.
Provide therapists with client management functionality.

Solutions

-Built a convenient digital platform to effectively treat child anxiety disorders. Seven online modules are released weekly and enhanced with videos, questionnaires, interactive worksheets, and quizzes. They are designed to help parents monitor their children’s condition. Parents complete and discuss them with therapists in weekly telephone meetings.

Ensured telephone support to enable therapists to make appointments with parents to apply strategies shown in online modules and discuss any challenges.

Developed a mobile game app called Monster’s Journey for registered OSI users only. It motivates children to face their fears through challenges, puzzles, and games.

Ensured the platform’s flexibility and simplicity. User-friendliness was achieved owing to calming colors and big text. Apart from that, short overview videos make it easy for parents to navigate the platform. Additionally, useful graphics were created to help therapists explain OSI to parents.

Built a convenient case management system that allows therapists to view archived and active clients, book appointments, add new clients, study parents’ responses to activities completed online, and share session notes with them.

Results

Recent studies proved that OSI is a feasible and cost-effective solution that shows positive results within standard clinical practice. The majority of children who participated in the OSI achieved positive changes in anxiety symptoms and were discharged without needing further treatment.
